Colorado SpringsI'm currently producing a multi-sensory poetry project that incorporates visual arts and audio recordings to make my written poetry accessible across three modalities. Anyone encountering an given poem can engage it via viewing, reading, and listening. Therefore, they will have a richer, fully embodied interaction with poetry rather than by simple reading it (which they can still do) or by listening to it read. The poetry project you are about to encounter is called "Savagery". Each poem is stripped down bare and very succinct in order to provide a visceral punch. I hope the reader experiences an epiphany and a sudden shift in perception. Each work is presented on an 8 x 10 canvass and has a QR code to access the audio file.

This is the first poem of a trilogy. In this stage, the audience is summoned into an encounter with Medusa in a subterranean cave.
Living Process
Idea
I've encountered two women, who tested the mettle I was made of. The first encounter was failure and the second was semi-successful. The third? We shall see…
Making
The poem was inspired and written in 2018. A friend of mine owned a studio and collaborated with me on the production of the audio version.
Finished Piece
The finished piece is on a canvas with a powerful image accompanying the poem. The audio file is available via a QR code.
